New Student Information

Welcome! As of September 2020, you will be a Fort Hamilton High School student. Our staff of nearly 400 is eager to get acquainted, as are the 3,300 returning students. While there may be great uncertainty about what school will look like in September because of the COVID-19 pandemic, what is certain is that you will be in good hands. Whether it be a full remote learning program or a partial remote learning environment, you will be engaged by caring and highly trained teachers. Rest assured that you will have the support to explore and be the very best that you can be.

In order to get up-to-date information, you must create a Pupilpath account with Fort Hamilton High School. Please see the directions on the back of this letter and create both a student and parent account after July 15, 2020. Pupilpath is Fort Hamilton’s online communication and information system which allows parents and students to access the student’s academic program, progress and attendance, and to contact school personnel. Programs (course schedule) will be available for viewing on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. You must have an account on pupilpath.com to access the Fall 2020 program and school-wide information.

The SY2020-21 calendar has not been released, but we anticipate the first day of school will be Thursday, September 10, 2020. Arrival time or log-in time will be determined by the session on a student’s program, and all students will have 7 classes plus lunch.

Session 1: 7:20am to 2:00pm (periods 1-8)

Session 2: 8:10am to 2:50pm (periods 2-9)

Session 3: 9:00am to 3:40pm (periods 3-10)

You will receive a telephone call beginning the week of August 31, 2020, reminding you of the above information. Also, please check our website, www.fthhs.org regularly for updates. Finally, you are expected to complete summer assignments in both math and reading for September 2020. You may access the Summer Assignments on our website under the New Student Information tab.

You should have received an email from caremonkey.com on June 22, prompting you to create an account so that you may complete the following forms: Emergency Contact Card, Health Form, Ethnic Identification Form, Language Preference Form, Home Language Survey and Residency Questionnaire. If applicable, please complete Medication Administration forms for: Diabetes, Asthma, Allergies and General

We encourage all families to complete the online Family Income Inquiry Form before the start of the new school year. You can apply starting July 1st at myschoolapps.com (you will need your child’s OSIS # to complete the online meal form).

If you do not intend to attend Fort Hamilton High School in September. Please complete email vintern@schools.nyc.gov or 646-926-2465.

We want to congratulate you on your recent completion of the current school year and wish you a healthy, productive, and safe summer. See you in September.

Very truly yours,

Kaye Houlihan
