hi everyone sorry we ran a little bit late I just wanted to welcome you all to our last I don't want you or a shop of the year so I just show me right now and these are the meeting though show me a pic we go over them and then if anybody has any questions feel free to ask okay great so what we did last meeting we we actually use most of finding this year we left only $6 and like less than $7 that was on Spencer we spent $32,000.11 on 60 workshop and books this year all the books cost was $7,140.11 workshops a total of 24860 now we did 29 working out to create a smashing 13 Workshop train Learning Center chinese-american Learning Council we just had some Builder was for but they were free what we're planning to do in the fall because normally in September we actually don't offer any workshops because we there's a lot of things that we have to do before we proceed to use the money so we have to do an annual Title 1 meeting that usually occurs after the first PTA meetings to this year just to anticipate that we will be delayed again in offering Workshop I am going to work with World system builder since they don't charge for any of the free Workshop financial literacy I did ask them if they can do something with college saving for college so I think we might be able to add more workshop on top of the four and hopefully we can do those be September have annual Title One meeting and then you know we'll have our first meeting to discuss like what Workshop that we can start you know you go she ate it without vendors and we got the approval so that we can start spending money as soon as possible so there are a few forms that I do need everybody to fill out so I need you to fill out to 2021-2022 title one chair at work. it's a list of all topics that we have offered in the past and also additional topics that are there that we might not have offered as a workshop and basically what our humidity does is we will see we will get together with all the parents that join us and we go through the data so what's great about the form is that is beside a really cool like how many parents want College writing course so the way we decide how we pick I worked up the highest percentage is what we're going to go after and by that and then any funding that's over with. and offer in addition to funding that we might have so I also have feedback forms for chain Learning Center will system builder Chinese American planning Council Starsign wise. connection and my family in curry lunch warm comes out in the summer that you can start filling out the fall are Title One money does come from the family increase the income in Creve Coeur we have over sixty percent of families that are under privilege which then provides us with the title one funding so that's why if you can starting in the summer you can start filling out that form on the star all the other surveys in that way in September when we get a head start so just a quick we kind of go over here we in our bylaws we have been quite successful in creating these workshops and posting it without parents we thought it would be easier that we take the bylaws off so that you know Genevieve and Kathy and I continue to run this more smoothly each year so this year was the most workshops we've ever done because every year that we have done this and we've only done this for like three years fully using the money using it getting fully using your eating we we use it close as possible to 0 so we've been on this for three and a half years and we this year is our most successful I have to say because a lot of parents didn't end up with their kids and the kids really enjoyed it so I feel like you always want to have parent guide with the kids and as long as they're all learning together then they know what sentence for college you know whether is job Readiness definitely you know we want to consume you having this type of relationship where the child and Karen are on the same page and they could discuss fostering the parent and child relationship we also are running a few errands and then I'm coming to our workshops and not only that but just being in our meeting so that we could discuss you know what type of workshops so I resent you want to say happy is graduating out this year so we will be will be happy is our secretary and we will miss her. You know and it's been a really big integral part of the tie the one at Fort Hamilton she started she helped us into the parent advisory Council and when I came in it was you know been running for like 2 years and we literally was just a small group of parents trying to figure out how to use this funding and Kathy knew everything there was like what we can do what we can't do and and it was just it was such a fun experience to be honest meaning because I'm just using you as a soundboard and just trying to figure out like how can we get more parents to come how come you no interest everyone you know to go to the shop but definitely with you mess because you've been a big part of this whole title one and we are going to me and Genevieve and I will continue on I'm going to be taking over choppy position hurry and treasure I will still continue on his chair I just need everybody to confirm if that's okay because in our bylaws we changed it to years back I have no time limit so that we can you know smoothly run the title one every year and by the same workshops so that we can give parents empowered to use this funding for what they need for their family so that's basically why we've been trying to do and I think we've done it quite successfully so if I do want to just take a chance if anybody a stain doesn't want to vote or just real or Genevieve or myself you continue for next year if you want to raise your hand we will be voting again and in the next meeting but I just want to let you know that this is what will be discussed at the pit right after the PCA watch does anybody disapprove or abstain from voting I wish I could vote but it won't be there so you know this has been truly an honor for all of us to you know the feedback is something I am requesting only because I you know there's a lot of rule change as with the title one that's been happening and I want to make sure we have the best in case you say well why did you do all these works out you know who what reason are you doing and I feel like it is necessary for us to find out like the workshop or not or if they want us to continue so this year we did a lot of different things and I have to say thank you for allowing us to do it because the most we ever done before all day approached we were going to do 20 so 60 week we've tripled it this year and we managed to get it to work with Miss Loretta Hamtaro and also with miss my car and it's the car is not here. because she's on the train you leave but has been an integral part of the title one works out this year and and we've been cranking these things out you know the books are we we have really awesome boxes while I just saw the picture and and this is our income statement of how we spent the money so there is no misunderstanding you know I don't write the check I just you know whatever money that we did spend how much each Workshop cost and these are the books that we gave out this year and we still have some leftover next year what will you know we're going to create a new list so that we know the only one stay the same will probably be the PSAT and paying for college but everything else we will probably change up a little bit so that we can have a collection of books for me I love them so any parent or even child for child you know for parents families whatever and it's not necessarily just on College some of them are just really good read so these books if you attended the title 1 Workshop you're entitled for free bucks so you just need to fill out that book form and everything is on is he so I'm going to put this in the chat box you guys can fill it out if you want to right now does anybody have any questions feel free to unmute you more than happy to say anything but pretty much that's all I really have we we we did it this year and I'm very proud that we were able to post all these workshops a million it's Kathy I just want to add to what you said that title one is not really part of PGA I think you made the point it's it's really under the school the title One Federal funding and so the title one committee when I first came here the school I just become the title one school I was involved in that decision as to whether the title one committee would be part of PGA or would be independent we made the decision after some research that it should be in Japan that it would function better I would be better for us funds to be separate that way and I think it's worked out really well I I personally have never seen dedication like I've seen Lillian Shack time she started here she took Title One seriously serving those parents it was difficult getting people in but you know what is sent with the virtual transition it was more effective to run workshops and drop parents into those with their children which is the very point of title one parent funding to for sure and feed the connection between parents and their children who are in the high school so I really do commend you Lily and I've done it before I won't be able to do it after tonight I'll be you a truly an amazing individual very passionate about what you do and I'm honored to have known here you know you guys are the parents I really need I do this for you guys because I do know as you know my grandparents not speak English and you know back then when we went to school people helped each other out right now other parents so Mike my grandparents in English so I understand how difficult it is in park do huge and my my goal was really to be able to use his funding so that we can help those parents that are in these don't know where to ask for help and that's what I really feel it's just to help everybody because I know how it feels to be in that position and you're having you guys as PCA definitely has helped me because you know we we preach. a lot of parents and even the past years and we you know we've been together 5 years I've been here for five years so I know you guys before by Christine so I I I will miss you guys are Senior PGA parents are leaving and I look forward to continue working with the new PPI this evening. tonight I did put in the chat box of the book form and also all the surveys and then the meeting notes are also in the Box as well so if nobody has any questions I guess you guys can take over to start okay we appreciate very much meetings up at you because you know it's it's very important you know when once you have accomplished what you have to go back and try to help the other parents and I'm so glad that you did take advantage of it the books are for me it's giving out a buck is definitely it is at the key thing because you need it if you need it for the PS3 PS4 did I remember I work 10 days so I can afford that as eighty bucks so I know how it is that you know if you can you don't know where to get the money to go buy a book I definitely want to give that to our kids they need it I mean if you don't need it you want cuz I Daniels Bareburger Our Guest to his mental health specialist Daniel has been working with the Department of Health and the deal we since 2016 before that and high school English teacher and district 21 his areas of focus self-care stress and stress reduction today with Telehealth so much more help can be accessed he gave us an overview of the last 14 months how many people were feeling anxiety with returned to normality regular life just keeps October 2020 marks the halfway point the feelings of anger and helplessness when is this going to end in January 2021 the new year new goals and finally March 2021 the one-year anniversary of the beginning of the pandemic with fear not excite seeming to be here on the on the top stress is ongoing and stress and everything he advocated self-care and encouraged us to create a system in our lives to provide resistance space and armor these are some of the things he touched on so let us do a breathing exercise to help in forming that resistance base in armor and self-care is Joseph Banks was fabric first time and announced that anybody can reach out to Mike houlahan contact mr. must communicate with into a individual teachers if this option is chosen AP exams big on May 18th students may also opt to take AP exams at home most students have opted for that region exams are taking place students must opt-in to take them only those students will be in the building and then you're very small for that students who earn a 65 or greater on the exam will earn college readiness nicest that will be given only in-person graduation set for June 23rd for ceremonies 911 1 + three on the field street closure and extra police report has been requested the biggest challenge will be checking for fully vaccinated or covid-19 testing 72 hours before covid testing continues once-per-week 40% in PE classes the school has no control as to when the testers arrive PSAL continues with covid testing for soccer volleyball and football tutoring continues with a push for students to focus on current classes and makeup other Annex grades from the fall during finals week for Hamilton will be receiving 2.5 to 3 million dollars in additional funding for the 2021-22 school year even with the anticipated drop in enrollment from 4600 to 40 eating the 80th anniversary for Fort Hamilton is next year details will be forthcoming on anniversary celebrations summer school there will be makeup classes for full credit and X recovery and enrichment hoping to post available teachers and awaiting additional guidance please complete the learning survey your access code is your child has number with an f as in Frank before it was Joseph reported on fundraising has been dispensed with for the school year 2020 21 Executive Board nominations voting will take place in June if you have a question regarding nominations please speak with a nominating Committee Member executive board alarm I have only a couple of recited that I should discuss the first item has to do with the retirement of Mike Kozlowski i c a t e of school security Fort Hamilton he has been here for 27 years he has in the opinions of many done a good job. children say all of those thousands of children who went to school under his service the times that he served the school have been some of the most challenging certainly in our lives and so a few of us after we found out he was retiring felt that the parents should recognize his service and so I took it upon myself to order Aflac and I take the flak and I'm hoping that you all will agree that this is service that should be recognized and that I can get reimbursed what money that I spent Lillian has put up the plaque if you'd like to take a look at it can you read it yes so it's in the parents and I think that it's it's a well-deserved I've heard him you know speak publicly to students more than that I've heard him when I've been at the bake sale table ask students with these humongous passes where to go what they're doing and it's always been done I thought with a respectful tone do you know what time students then responded to him in kind even when they were out when it was supposed to be so so I would like for you to approve the presentation of this black Sinister Kozlowski and naked PGA event and also approve reimbursing me the $62 that it cost to get it is it an emergency use of funds well if I had waited until tonight I might not have gotten it before graduation and so you know my fate is in thank you thanks guys I appreciate it I was really very happy that I was able to get this done so quickly and so I think that it will be at the 9 commencement where my daughter is graduating and we will present him with that of the second item that I would like to ask you to approve is that I have to give you history here when I started at Fort Hamilton six years ago that year the PTA had decided to do away with the senior scholarships for academics and at the end of my first year Miss Houlihan came to the executive board and asked us to put them back so I understood the reasons why the executive board has taken them away but I also felt that if we could restructure the scholarships it away and have both academic and non-academic scholarships that it would be more acceptable to everybody and so I wrote the description designated at the time for academic scholarships which then became a state with our Gala in 2019 but also I rode for descriptions for what I called named War so these were the PJ leadership award which actually was intended to have Miss Houlihan's name on it the award for excellent character which was intended to have my cousin house keys name on the school spirit award which was intended to have mr. roses name on it and of course the only one of the four non-academics that have the name on it is the Tom Green award for grit in car Tom being the person who's in a bronze inset outside the pool which he fought for years to get the funding for for Fort Hamilton Hughes fired teacher of Fort Hamilton and you know I think that he really deserves the credit for trying to bring swimming into the public schools don't that's the one that has a name on it what I would propose tonight that we re add the names what happened was they had a meeting and they decided they didn't want their names on you okay. So we took the names off your horse but now does your cousin lowsky is retiring so he's actually in the category of Tom Green so I said earlier I felt his name should go back on the award and we are in the executive board meeting change excellent character two outs sanding citizenship so that award will be now the Fort Hamilton High School Mike Kozlowski Chichi award for outstanding citizenship if we approved then we had two other reports whose names were not on them but I asked Houlihan if she would object still to putting her name back on and then she said no so we're going to put her name back on that leadership worried that it will be the Fort Hamilton High School Kay Houlihan PTA leadership award so that will be that one send the last one Mister Road I've helped him understand the value of having someone's name on that award really from from your perspective as well as the students and he is also in agreement with you your persistence I agree with you just like I just didn't want my name to be out there anymore I understand that but I also think that schools that have named words like this in honor of people it points to the investor of these people in these children's lives and I always think it makes the school Seymour in Rich and and I think that you know it may be the beginning of many more I don't know but I think that were mr. Rose does what students I've seen it especially with my my son I think it's just the incredible work that he does so so bad at War then thank you Miss Houlihan's talking to him will be the Fort Hamilton High School Robert Rose PGA school spirit award show if you will agree then those Awards will be renamed for these people and I'm going to ask if there any questions first anyone question comment and I'm getting agreements so so then does anyone want not to approve these changes everyone agree okay then put your agreements the chat so there's a record of it I appreciate it very much this is bothered name is a lance and I think that I think that people who work real hard I should have those efforts recognized and I think it's very important and we often don't take time to do that so I appreciate both the parents 2 years ago who approved these names being on the awards and I appreciate all of you tonight again endorsing those changes thank you very much so I'm I'm going to call next on our treasure to prevent that report hello everyone I would present report for the month of June basically amount stays the same from the last month it's $20,068.07 and since it's going to be probably our last report I would projected expenses for the smog Pro V6 600 in equal scholarships and also approved amount $62 so this should leave us with the amount of $13,400 thank you and the projected report missing Mahan we started working on it and we will have that to you by the end of the week thank you and so unless there is other business for us we move to our elections and so Lillian the status of our elections we have one can't I don't have it in front of me I apologize we have one candidate running for president is that correct are you muted yes that's correct we we do only have this Tamara Stern running for Pres and a VP. It's not necessary because you're running uncontested are you muted hello everybody can I have been part of the school for a while at a she came in a litter a few years after you write Kathy and I actually met Kathy at on President's Council many moons ago song On and On you know she did such a great job at at DSi and we learned a lot of things the president's Council so you know when found out that she was actually president of four times and that's very excited and you know I want to be a part of that and I and I volunteer and don't like to try the one for that first full year and that's where I met Lily and like I said before awesome job from from the beginning the spite you know you coming in and not knowing as much as we all dead and so we all learn together so I just think you guys doing a really great job despite the circumstances that we've dealt with this year and I think you guys will be greatly missed so and I decided to step up to try it some way to feel some kind of issues of the Caribbean that the current board to leave on sale so I hope I can do as good a job or even have to drop that they've done the last year's so thank you thank you very much naira I'm sure you'll do fine. You I think we'll go through all the positions so next we have again I'm sorry I don't have them in front of me Kathy I put it I didn't share screens or so so I is this a contested position or are people moving to octopus that's my question if we kind of use logic as of right now we had multiple parents that were running for different positions so Renee actually has only one position with her name on it so if Renee is second vice president that picture out of the first vice president so it then becomes Rihanna I'm sorry Lily and Renee do you prefer to run first four first vice president or are you accepting of second vice president is the question Renee Young I am muted sorry about that Hi how are you I am not sure about the differences between the roles but my goal is to help the students in the school so whatever works we are specific responsibilities to these positions other than to support the President also partly the rolls deal with succession you know if the president is not there who runs the meeting and we're always goose with that sometimes it was the secretary but other than that it's really up to the executive board to discuss different roles and then perhaps to assign them and so in that sense I would see them is equal yes that's fine that's fine yeah that's Rihanna I'm sorry you would be moving into first vice and Renee of course would be moving into second vice-president so then back text Rhianna out of recording secretary and takes Renee out and then Marina becomes recordings checking my reading this right please show me to force anybody anywhere in there if the other to take the positions of first and and then Treasurer would become Shirley Chen and dad is our executive board congratulations I think you're going to do a great dog I know Shirley is going to do a great job with treasure and Marie it has been I can't tell you what a wonderful secretary she has been she is amazing and Renee has spoken to I haven't spoken to Rihanna and I did Samara but I know tomorrow for a few years our SLT elections our next-gen here to we have no contest so welcoming and so she will be welcoming and Lorena and Genevieve and so congratulations to all of the candidates what I love about this is that there's no contact we always were at yes I and if Lord Hamilton not to have contests sometimes you can't help it but always what you want are you know people to come forward and then there's lots of other stuff for people to do who don't get it to the a non-executive board they can come someone can share the academic enrichment committee there's so much to do in a school this size I wish all of you the best of luck lots of success and congrats Malaysian thank you to you and your family on your wonderful back up a little bit any of the candidates who have now been elected wish to speak I offered to marry the opportune me and I didn't offer to anyone else if you'd like to take your minute or two please do I'm good thanks no thank you I look forward to working with all of you I'm good also thank you looking forward to see everyone in person yeah I just want to say hello and I look forward to being on SLC and ready to go I've got to high school now for now but then I'm ready congratulations to all of you NSLC best of luck to all of you and your you'll definitely be missed it's just a quick question Who said they submitted of warm but they obviously the name wasn't on the list so I don't know I just wanted to bring it up just in there is the nomination form was put out for over a month they these are the only candidates that we had received a car so whoever it is if they want to talk to the PTA nomination election committee they're more than welcome to and that would be yourself as a point of contact the land the facilitator because I was on the nominating committee last year so I just created all the forms so who's the best person for them to reach out Christine I mean we we started the nominating committee but I have to stay that are the names here tonight or the names that I was familiar with something for yourself I spoke to know anybody else okay yeah I did I just no either so we just wanted to make sure the person but you know anyone could it be give me an end so I feel bad but they're only they can reach out and discuss and the active and run next year there are are you Eliza oh good they just sent me the link it was Lisa. I've been trying to so I sent you that nomination form back in April and may I ask out when it was sent out but I did send it I'm back in but I never got any it just says thank you and whatever it said after I submitted the form online and I didn't get any phone calls or any kind of response after that this is the first I'm hearing so none of us were aware where you're four months I have no solution open positions left open so happy that people stepped up because for a while we weren't getting any candidates at all I think Renee was one of the first and we were starting to get concerned that perhaps you know I had spoken at a couple of meetings that as long as we had one person elected he had illegal TGI's or Miss Houlihan if you want you can work on next year if you can convince somebody to accept your call they can amend the bylaws and you know you could run for that however there would also be have to be an open election and there would be new parents coming in in September so that would probably be a contested election but you know first vice president could be a Coach position second vice-president of those positions PECO positions if parents agree but I am no idea where your form when two or you know whatever was the link that you guys so I just clicked on that link and just submitted it back what happened in here back did you reach out to anybody at all you said you filed it about a month-and-a-half ago so I did just didn't expect any until the elections could you guys got cuz it says thank you for registering your form if they were to farm there was one that we did prior to before we actually announced the election date and that is an interest to serve for him they were two people that felt it out which was Renee and yourself and then there was an email address okay but the email address was the one that bounced back when we try to reach out to you know okay to ask questions about all the PTA position and then a month later with the nomination forms that's been open for like 2 months so I don't know which one that was you feel that was an interest earned form so the official nomination form which everybody had filled out tonight was the nomination form for SLT and the PTA so that the first time you filled out was the interest to start and you wanted to talk to us about the different positions okay all right so everything's already been filled then right. Everything is just missed it by a few minutes yeah we had no contest no problem it's no big deal I'm Genevieve and I are part of the title one parent in our bylaws are we don't have term limits that was taken out three years ago so we just need to confirm tonight that everybody agrees that I could still continue on as chair title one parent committee and Genevieve has graciously agreed to to do two positions the recording secretary and also Treasurer position so if you know if anybody can tell or at least let us know we are considering this as an election so that in the fall we could start moving along with providing workshops for all our parents if so if everybody agrees then Genevieve is going to be doing double duty and that's okay with us so I do want a bad Kathy has been an integral part of the title one and you know like just like Tamara when we first started we were just such a small crew and Cathy was the one that helped us set up set us and put us in the right path and I truly will miss having you there because Kathy is graduating out along with Christine everybody that I knew that I met at Fort Hamilton for five years miss you all Kathy mesob Eric you know it's it's been a pleasure working with you all and you know that I read every parent everything that you worked on you guys had worked on is call Rebecca's parents and the kids and I have to say that I would miss seeing you guys each time for next year but you know we're still friends or definitely still friends but you know just working yeah there with you guys is it's been a pleasure I would like to say to that I really think my executive board this year under the most trying of circumstances we managed to get some stuff done not fight that was positive I want to thank Catherine and congratulate her she also is graduating with me and surely you're going to be a Super Treasure thank you Christine I feel like I have a sister makes me laugh so much and I feel like I've done some good stuff here some tomorrow if you need reach out and it's cool and thanks for everything it's been indeed a ride and I want to thank everybody both current sure special thanks Kathy Joseph Kathy mussab and Christine Pierzynski and congratulations to your children are you guys this last year was hard I really just a signing off they just recorded for the concert you want to say hi to everybody hi everybody knowing you combined with girl police jingle bell all the graduating you know we can't do without you so I know it's not easy is your so difficult mr. overly have a great evening thanks don't forget mirror and I didn't mention lambarena I'm just wondering Perils of wearing eye makeup right would anyone like to say anything else I just want to say thank you for the what is Fort Hamilton this was my fourth graduating just love being with everybody and working with everybody was just a lot of fun when the gallons from Lily and always trying to keep me on track with my tech stuff up the computer cuz I wasn't that great at it but I learned and I just want to say thank you thank you Miss Houlihan to Kathy I mean just thank you everyone I think that's a wrap dress tonight good luck everybody and I'll see somebody with graduation thank you thank you Kathy
