Fort Hamilton High School News and Information - March 2, 2021

Fort Students and Families,                            March 2, 2021

March is a busy month. Full remote learning continues along with virtual workshops for parents sponsored by the Title I Parent Committee. See the March Newsletter from Parent Coordinator, Nancy Makkar.  Marking Period 1 ends on March 12th followed by Parent-Teacher Conferences March 18-19.  The month closes with Spring Recess from March 29 to April 2.

A reminder that any Blended student without consent for covid testing was moved to Remote learning at the end of February.  We delayed making this change to offer families time to complete the consent form, but there will be no return to blended for the remainder of SY2020-21.  We now have a fixed number of blended students and will assess our ability to add an additional in-person day

when high schools reopen for students.

Term 1 Grade Change Request

Families have the option to request that a passing numeric grade from Term 1 can be converted to CR (credit).  The grade of CR does not impact GPA.  Families can request some or all passing grades be changed to CR by completing the form here no later than April 30, 2021.  This does not apply to grades of NX.

PARENT/GUARDIAN CHOICE OF GRADING SCALE for 2020 TERM 1

Students who earned an NX in Term 1 will learn about opportunities to make up the work this week. The Term 2 program on Pupilpath should reflect courses to be made up and teachers are reaching out to students with more information via email and/or in class.  If your child earned an NX in Term 1, they must do their best to recover the credit this term.

Please see updated Term 2 Tutoring Schedule attached that includes SAT Prep opportunities in addition to support across content areas.

SAT for 11th Graders:  We sent an email to cohort 2022 students at fthamiltonhs.org address regarding registration for an in-person SAT administered at FHHS during 2 different school days  in April.  Juniors must register by April 5.

Take care and have a positive and productive week.
