Meet the 2024-2025 Fort Hamilton High School
PTA Candidates
President, VP, & Treasurer - Tamara Stern
I am running PTA President for FHHS. I am an active parent of our community and have been for many years. My focus has always been making sure that ALL of our parents are given the resources and information that they need to make informed decisions to help their students. I believe that ALL of our students deserve the best education to help lead them into their future careers what ever that may be. As parents its our goal to make sure that they have the tools to do so with the needed information and resources that are available out there. I would like to continue to make sure that our parents and staff are working collaboratively to help our kids get the best education and make sure that their social emotional needs are met as we all learn to navigate these four years. It is great to watch our students grow into wonderful young women and men who will be future leaders in whatever industry they chose to enter. I continue to be engaged in learning and finding out great information to share with our families and school to better our Fort Hamilton community. I truly am here for our students and families in all that I do and have done for my community. I know its a lot of work and I hope that I have shown that I continue to put the time and effort into always doing right by everyone that I represent.
Vice President - Tahira Faune Alford
I took out my 401K after my brother Professor Alford died and donated as much as I could to Title 1 teachers to get their class lists to help teachers I'll never meet to help kids I'll never meet. Because education is the most important thing. I went and took 3 jobs to rebuild my bank savings, I'll try to volunteer more next year. Fair warning, I'm a human struggling like everyone. I am a mom, I have worked in varying roles, parenting responsible kids to have self-confidence, a good moral compass, kindness and the hunger to learn and prepare to responsibly sustain themselves and their community in the future is the most important job.
Recording Secretary - Dyanne Nieves-Gutierrez
My name is Dyanne Nieves-Gutierrez. My daughter, Faith, is a sophomore at Fort Hamilton High School. I am the Recording Secretary and was the PTA Vice President at my daughter's elementary school. With my current and prior experiences as an executive board member, I am committed to being a parent leader who actively supports our families and school in fostering successful students who will graduate from Fort Hamilton High School.

4. Heloise Dubreuil Traynor
I am running for the SLT position because I want to get involved in Fort Hamilton HS. I have served on the SLT Team in my children's Elementary school (PS 748) so I have an understanding of the requirements and the commitment involved. I will also have another child attending FHHS in September. I feel that this is the perfect opportunity to make an investment of my time in my children's school.
