Important Information for FHHS Families -January 3, 2021

Good Morning and Greetings to 2021 at FHHS,

Over the weekend a pipe burst at FHHS in room 249, formerly a bathroom. The flooding and damage to the building is extensive and necessitates no staff or student access for at least 2 weeks with the likelihood for all of January.  Fortunately no one was hurt and we can proceed with remote instruction and all other school functions on Monday, January 4th.

The worst of the damage is 143, 145 and the Girls Gym in addition to the Principal’s conference room where numerous new iPad's awaiting pick up were destroyed by water. Other offices and areas were also flooded, including the staff and student cafeterias.

As noted above, no one will be allowed access for any reason until further notice, likely all of January while the damage is assessed and addressed.  School Construction Authority (SCA) will assess when select staff can enter safely, and your patience is required.

We are grateful that we can proceed with full remote operations tomorrow: classes resume per bell schedule on Monday, January 4th.  Repairing and restoring essential items will be organized as soon as we’re able and there will be several agencies involved to assist us. Any student with plans to pick up an iPad per a phone call prior to the break should wait until we have further information about replacements.

Thank you for your cooperation.  We will continue to serve students and support each other in 2021 just as we did in 2020 and before.
