Parent University Resource with Families

The DOE’s new Parent University seeks to educate and empower all families from early childhood through adulthood, with free courses, resources, events, and activities. Parents can register for free trainings on a wide range of topics, including adult education, student social-emotional learning, and special education. Please share this resource with your school community by emailing these flyers to families (translated versions of the flyer are available on the Family and Community Empowerment (FACE) family-facing webpage).

Additionally, staff members can submit a course to be hosted on the Parent University platform by completing the Parent University Course Submission Form.

Important P-EBT Update:
State P-EBT System Should Now Include All NYC Public School Students
All NYC public school students have entered automatically into the State's P-EBT system and should now appear in the system.  Some families have already received the cards in the mail, but not all mailings have gone out.  If you have not yet received the cards, you should expect them shortly.

In the rare instance you learn that your child does not appear in the P-EBT system after calling the helpline, please email us at [email protected]

We are working hard to figure out what steps you should take in order to point you in the right direction.

Please note that some students who attend NYC charter and parochial schools may not yet appear in the P-EBT system but will shortly.

STEPS YOU MAY NEED TO TAKE
If you have not received a P-EBT mailing within the next few days, call the State P-EBT Helpline at 1-833-452-0096 to confirm that your child appears in the P-EBT system.

P-EBT Helpline (OTDA): 1-833-452-0096
The helpline is staffed 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.

TO REACH A REPRESENTATIVE: Select your language, then stay on the line. It will go through a menu of options, but just stay on the line and do not make any other menu selections.  This is the fastest way to reach a representative.
You can also email:

Card Activation Line: 1-888-328-6399
This is also the number you can use to check the balance on your card, or you can check your card balance by visiting www.connectebt.com

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
Interpretation: Please email us at [email protected] to request interpretation and we will make every effort to provide interpretation services for the languages requested. However please note that we cannot guarantee that all languages will be available.
